Senior FP&A Manager

The Role

We are seeking a Senior FP&A Manager to lead financial planning and analysis for a high-growth US company, working remotely from Sri Lanka.

You will own the planning process end to end, from the operating model and budget to board materials and fundraising support, and act as the CFO's or CEO's partner on strategic decisions. This is a core FP&A leadership role: the work is planning, modeling, and decision support, not controllership or treasury. Some placements sit within US fractional CFO or advisory firms, leading FP&A across a portfolio of client companies.

What You'll Own

Planning and Modeling

• Operating model. Own the company's three-statement operating model and the assumptions behind it.
• Annual plan and forecast. Lead the annual planning process and rolling forecast across all departments.
• Cash and runway. Own the rolling cash flow forecast and runway planning, including scenarios for fundraising timing.
• Scenario planning. Model scenarios and sensitivities for decisions on pricing, hiring, expansion, and investment.

Strategy, Board, and Capital

• Board and investor reporting. Own board decks, investor updates, and the narrative behind the numbers.
• Fundraising. Build the financial model, strategy materials, and data room inputs for equity or debt raises.
• Corporate strategy and M&A. Support corporate strategy and M&A, from opportunity analysis to deal execution.

Performance and Team

• KPIs and unit economics. Define the KPI framework and unit economics, and the dashboards that track them.
• Business partnership. Hold department heads to plan, and explain variances with clear recommendations.
• The team. Lead and develop FP&A analysts, and improve planning tools and processes.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of finance experience, including at least 2 of your most recent years in a core FP&A role and experience leading a planning cycle
• Expert three-statement modeling skills, including complex, driver-based models
• Experience preparing board and investor materials and presenting to senior leadership
• Experience supporting a fundraise, M&A transaction, or other strategic initiative
• Experience with cash flow forecasting and scenario planning
• Experience leading or mentoring analysts
• Strong written and spoken English, with the confidence to present to founders, boards, and investors
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Preferred

• Investment banking or private equity experience
• FP&A leadership at a VC-backed startup or a company with fewer than 500 employees, or at a fractional CFO or advisory firm
• SaaS experience (ARR/MRR, retention, churn, CAC) or CPG experience (price-volume-mix, trade spend, COGS, inventory)
• Experience using AI tools in finance workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output
• CFA, CA, CPA, CIMA, or an MBA in Finance
• Experience implementing a planning tool such as Adaptive, Pigment, Mosaic, or Causal

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
