The Role
We are seeking an FP&A Manager to own financial planning and analysis for a high-growth US company, working remotely from Ecuador.
This is a core FP&A role, not a broad finance management one. You will build and own the financial model, budget, and forecasts, and turn them into the reporting and analysis leadership uses to make decisions. You will work directly with the CFO or Head of Finance, founders, and department heads. Some placements sit within US fractional CFO or advisory firms, delivering the same work across a portfolio of client companies.
What You'll Own
Modeling and Planning
- Financial model. Build and maintain the three-statement model, translating business assumptions into projections leadership can rely on.
- Budget and forecast. Own the annual budget and rolling forecast, working with department heads on their inputs.
- Cash forecasting. Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast and runway view.
- Scenario analysis. Run scenario and sensitivity analysis on hiring, pricing, and growth decisions.
Reporting and Insight
- Variance analysis. Explain actuals against budget and forecast each month, with root causes and recommended actions.
- Reporting and KPIs. Build and maintain executive dashboards, weekly and monthly reporting packages, and KPI tracking.
- Unit economics. Analyze unit economics such as LTV/CAC, payback, gross margin, and contribution margin.
- Board and investor materials. Prepare board decks and investor updates with finance leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of finance experience, including at least 2 of your most recent years in a core FP&A role
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining three-statement financial models
- Direct ownership of budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Experience with scenario, sensitivity, and variance analysis
- Experience producing KPI dashboards and management reporting
- Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Preferred
- Investment banking or private equity experience
- FP&A experience at a VC-backed startup or a company with fewer than 500 employees, or at a fractional CFO or advisory firm
- SaaS experience (ARR/MRR, retention, churn, CAC) or CPG experience (price-volume-mix, trade spend, COGS, inventory)
- Experience using AI tools in finance workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output
- CFA, CA, CPA, CIMA, or an MBA in Finance
- Experience with planning tools such as Adaptive, Pigment, Mosaic, or Causal
Who This Role Is For
A finance professional whose core experience is FP&A, not general finance operations: you build the model yourself, know every assumption in it, and can explain to a founder what it means for next quarter.

About MAVI
MAVI places experienced finance and accounting professionals into senior, high-ownership roles at high-growth US companies. Founded in 2023 and backed by a $4 million seed round led by Harlem Capital, MAVI was recently featured in TechCrunch.
Our professionals join in-house finance teams in full-time, long-term roles, not short-term projects. The companies we work with range from venture- and PE-backed businesses to public companies and CFO advisory firms, including Athena Club, MotherDuck, and Within.
The work centers on judgment. As AI takes over more routine finance work, the people who review the output, question it, and own the result matter more than ever. MAVI professionals work alongside US finance leaders, using AI tools to do more and applying the judgment to catch what those tools get wrong. At one client, an AR dashboard now used across the organization was built almost entirely by MAVI talent.
We stay involved throughout, from role alignment and interview preparation to onboarding and long-term career development.
