The Role
We are seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to lead AP, AR, billing, collections, and cash processes at a high-growth US company, working remotely from Paraguay.
You will be accountable for the quality and timeliness of what the operations team produces, setting service levels and controls and making sure every subledger reconciles cleanly to the general ledger.
What You'll Own
- Operations. Oversee AP, AR, billing, collections, cash application, and payment operations.
- Review. Review operational reconciliations and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Working capital. Own working capital reporting and escalate cash, aging, or cut-off risks early.
- Controls. Set service levels, controls, and operating procedures across the accounting cycle.
- The team. Coach team members and coordinate with external payroll, payment, and collection providers.
- Partnership. Work with the Controller and accounting leadership on close and process improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years in accounting operations, shared services, controllership, or client accounting
- Experience reviewing work, managing escalations, or coaching team members
- Solid understanding of US accrual accounting and month-end cut-off
- Experience with tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Ramp, Tipalti, or Stripe
- Strong process ownership and stakeholder communication
- Strong written and spoken English, with the confidence to present results to US leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification
Preferred
- Contador Público, US CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output
- Experience serving US companies, customers, vendors, or clients
- Shared services or BPO leadership experience
Who This Role Is For
An operations leader who measures success in fewer exceptions and faster response times, and who builds a team that runs well without constant escalation.

About MAVI
MAVI places experienced finance and accounting professionals into senior, high-ownership roles at high-growth US companies. Founded in 2023 and backed by a $4 million seed round led by Harlem Capital, MAVI was recently featured in TechCrunch.
Our professionals join in-house finance teams in full-time, long-term roles, not short-term projects. The companies we work with range from venture- and PE-backed businesses to public companies and CFO advisory firms, including Athena Club, MotherDuck, and Within.
The work centers on judgment. As AI takes over more transactional accounting, the people who review the output, question it, and own the result matter more than ever. MAVI professionals work alongside US finance leaders, using AI tools to do more and applying the judgment to catch what those tools get wrong. At one client, an AR dashboard now used across the organization was built almost entirely by MAVI talent.
We stay involved throughout, from role alignment and interview preparation to onboarding and long-term career development.
